THE CHURCH FOR TRAINING AND REIGNING IN LIFE THROUGH JESUS CHRIST
The Story of Fresh Manna Worship Center
Our History

Covenant Family Worship Center, “The Church With The Family Focus”, stands as a testimony of what God can accomplish with a few good men and women, who know God’s ways and not just his acts. Headed by Christ and under the leadership of Pastor John E. Hardy Jr., Covenant Family Worship Center (CFWC) was founded in 1999 and began with one family.
After faithfully serving over 15 years in ministry, which culminated in three and a half years as Assistant Pastor of Action Chapel International in Hyattsville, Maryland, Pastor Hardy heard the call of God to head a multi-cultural church known for praise and worship. With the approval of his pastor, Joshua Shonubi, and the support of the church, Pastor Hardy along with Minister Leatha, his wife, and their two sons and daughter, started Covenant Family Worship Center in Stafford, Virginia.

On February 28, 1999, at 4:00 p.m., an opening ceremony was held to commemorate what God had spoken into the heart of the pastor. Pastor Joshua led the ceremony attended by approximately 150 witnesses, who faithfully gave of themselves in praise and worship along with their financial support. This was to set the tone for what is continuing on to this day and has allowed this fellowship of believers to operate in excellence.

The following Sunday, March 7, 1999, at 8:30 a.m., marked the first official worship service. Assisted by Sister Tutu Marioghae and later on by Brother Kenny Vines as the praise and worship leader, CFWC opened its doors to the heavenly hosts and an audience of one. God was faithful though, and laid it on the heart of the first visitor, Mrs. Parcilla Brown, to also become the first member outside of the original family.

In June of 1999, through faithfulness in giving and because of the vision of the pastor to operate in excellence and have equipment of no less quality than that of the world, CFWC began purchasing its first professional sound system. This was one of many steps towards the promise from God that Covenant Family Worship Center would be a church known for praise and worship.

Over the next years, the leadership of CFWC worked diligently to remain faithful over what God gave us. Consistently increasing Covenant Family Worship Center, God allowed us, and caused us, to experience Matthew 25 verses 21 and 23 which say, ”…thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”
The Future Awaits!
As Covenant Family Worship Center moved into the future, the membership has been encouraged by God’s faithfulness in meeting every need – nothing lacking. And because of this, our body of believers felt confident that the Lord was with us as he lead us to the purchase of our new church home located at 652 Cambridge St, Fredericksburg, VA 22405.

On December 14, 2005 we closed on our first piece of property which included two buildings – an office building and sanctuary. And after six years of occupancy in a Stafford County public school we finally had a more permanent place to call home. It was due to God’s glory in the life of this church, the favor of the Lord, and the faithfulness of His people.
Throughout the years and through the present, God has blessed Covenant Family Worship Center with people that are faithful, dedicated, committed, and possessing willing minds and teachable spirits. He has shown us that He is a provider and that His servants would lack no good thing – “It’s in the house” or soon coming! He has proved to us that as we remain faithful stewards over what He has given, “Increase is on the way!” He has manifested His findings of our original slogan which is “God is looking for a few good men and women, who know God's ways and not just his acts” through each member of CFWC. He has given us an additional slogan, “The Church With The Family Focus”, since it is our desire to include families in everything we do.

For this, we as Covenant Family Worship Center, “The Church With The Family Focus”, thank and celebrate God…
For what He has done…
For all that He has given…
For what He is continuing to do

On September 14, 2018, Pastor Michael and Raychel were given the faith assignment as Senior Pastors of Covenant Family Worship Center. We thank God for this opportunity to advance His kingdom through the Body of Christ at CFWC. Our best days are yet to come! What Daddy authors, He always finishes. Shout Glory!!!
Why the Name Change?
On January 1, 2024, we changed the name of the church to Fresh Manna Worship Center, the Church for training and reigning in life through Jesus Christ. What this means is that this body of Believers in Christ and equip themselves with the word of God, prayer, and the art of worship as we engage in spiritual warfare for the souls of humankind. Being the called and chosen to God's high calling in Jesus Christ. We believe the return of our Lord is nearby. Jesus is coming back soon for His Bride (The Church is His Bride and it's also who we the Believers are.)
It is our desire to follow hard after God's heart through the leading and feeding by God's precious Holy Spirit to bring salvation, healing, deliverance, and the power (anointing) of the newness of life (being an overcomer) in this life. Which life we are to enjoy through Jesus Christ. Romans 1:17 and 2 Corinthians 5:7, say, “For the just shall live and walk by faith.” So do yourself a favor and just live and walk by faith and witness the life of God alive in you in the land of the living.
